Oh No It’s Two!

I’ve just picked up Sis from school. She’s feeling queasy and unpleasant and there was a bit of vomiting.

Odd, since I’m usually the first one knocked down by stomach related dilemmas.

I suppose God spared me so that I could watch over these two today.

A Story and A Sickness

2008 May 28 at 5:31 am (Family, Writings, Books, and Inspirations)

T is suffering from a bout of food poisoning.  Brings me back to the few days before we went to Japan where I spent the majority of my time in the bathroom on my knees.  He seems to have it better than I did, but I know that even the slightest amount of food poisoning is too much.  No one should have to suffer through something like this.  The bright side is that it is one bonafide, if terribly unpleasant and unhealthy, way to lose some poundage.

He seems to be sleeping now, but I am awake with a writer’s inspiration.  Whether the pages I have written so far will become short story or incorporated into my novel, I am not sure.  But I am fired up by the possibilities.   A new voice in my head.  He has questions of his own about the family that he never knew.  Left only with his mother’s stories, he tries to piece together the snatches into a coherent picture.  I feel for him, my delicate character.  Both of us blind to the truth, searching, exploring.  Trying to understand the ghosts that surround us.

In real life, birds have begun chattering and Sister must be ready for her day program in an hour. T is snoring steadily without the labored grunts of a writhing stomach. My eyes are finally drooping, but if I sleep now, waking later will be that much harder.

Hmm… it seems I am also hungry.  Mornings are rough.
